#1 Postby Sean in New Orleans » Wed Feb 04, 2004 8:17 pm

...In the metro New Orleans area. Between now and Friday AM we are expecting 4" to 8" of rain with isolated areas to receive over 12" according to mets---our most significant rainfall event in several months... http://www.srh.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p ... klix.shtml

See what's upstream folks? There are dewpoints in Texas at 70 DEGREES.

That LLJ (Low Level Jet) is gonna bring in so much moisture that places like Va Beach, VA will have thunderstorms. All this moisture and more......all heading for us in only 30 hours or so, with plenty of mild air and very strong Warm Air Advection that will swiftly overcome the cool sfc layer and bring tons of heavy rains to SC, NC, VA, MD, E PA, NJ, SE NY, DE, WV, TN, KY, and other places in the MA and southern SNE regions. North and east of that there will be damaging ICE!!!

That overactive STJ is on a Rampage and we are about to feel its WRATH in the form of heavy rains and thunderstorms. Over the Carolinas I believe there could be training thunderstorms and rain in the multiple inches.

Get ready for this one. We only have about 30 hours left before showtime.

Looks like New Orleans will get hammered in about two hours or so. We're in a break right now but I'm expecting flooding rains and severe storms to move in here later tonight and last throughout tomorrow.

The skies to the SW are flashing lightning and I can hear the rumble of thunder. This is the first thunder I've heard in quite some time. It's always strange to have lightning and thunder in February. This is really going to be some significant rain....training is obvious on radar....
