Storm2k new look and feel!!!

#1 Postby chadtm80 » Sun Jan 25, 2004 6:53 pm

I am proud and excited to announce storm2k's new look and feel!!!! Storm2k has been TOTALLY re-done. You will find more helpful info in our weather central then ever before, and its ALL at your fingertips.. Our ENTIRE site is now all accessible from the Message board it self.. Each page is accessible from every page via the Menu bar on top of the pages.. Please browse around. Everything you need and in simple for and all in one place.. Make storm2k your homepage.. You wont need to save another favorite after you save us :-) We have everything from conus models, to tropical models, to National weather maps, Emergancy Info, and Your FULL LOCAL WEATHER under the your weather link.. Get your current conditions, 7 Day Forecast, Hour by Hour cast, warning/advisories, and Radar for your exact area all on one page!

So browse through and give it a chance ;-) Feedback Welcomed!

http://www.storm2k.org If new pages do not show for you hit the refresh button.. If they still do not show for you after that you will need to dump cookies and temp internet files...

The "New Forum" look is going to be "Forced" for atleast the first 24 hours.. Meaning everyone will be using it and can not be changed.. After everyone gets a chance to peak at it will will set to allow you to then manually set one board type you want, I however will recommend you use the new one "Dark Blue" for now on, as that is the one that will be updating frequently and will be our default template..

Enjoy - Chad

you guys do such great work.....always updating what is already a great site.
I have to say that my first reaction on the color change though is not so favorable. For old tired eyes like mine, it is really much harder to read.
I think I saw somewhere that it is best viewed with 1024 x 768. I have my monitor set at 800 x 600 because otherwise I simply cannot read the smaller fonts very well.
you stated:

does that mean if I choose a different color, I will not have access to updates?

I really like it, though this font is to small to read for the "post reply." Also, cannot see the cursor. Otherwise, just great!

K, going to turn the force off now so everyone will automaticly og back to the board style that they had selected before.. If you want to go back to the new one.. Go to your profile and select "dark blue" under the board style section.. I reccomend to everyone to use the Dark blue template ;-)

Nothing at all.> The dark blue will just be our default template.. So that is the one we will update FIRST.. all templats will still be updated though.. no worries ;-)

Chad, so there is no specific reason why you recommend the "[WS] Dark Blue" template?

Should we be aware of the reasons? I do like the new "WS [Dark Blue]", but fine with "FI Plain."

The post boxes are now white with Black Text now so it is MUCH easier to read and see the cursor now :-)

I've been getting help over on the help forum from marshall but we are stumped. the problem is that I am using Netscape and with the new template I cannot see the profile button, the serach button, etc
I can when I use IE.
does the new look not work properly with Netscape now?
