Hey everybody-I'm going to give one quick update (Thrilled aren't you!!)-we now have sleet/snow-more sleet than snow :( and it is comming down at a pretty good clip-temps. holding at 29-looks like maybe the storm is trying to track a little bit south :) we have a big break after this band moves through which may allow our temps. to rise-hopefully not above 32-I'd be real disappointed if we wound up having rain today!! I'm getting ready to take my son out sleding behind my bike!! There is a pretty good coat of ice on the roads right now!! If any weather experts can tell me that I will stay in all snow or just a little sllet and snow, even if it's not the case, I'll pay you!! Just let me think it will not rain-I'll live a lie today LOL!! Have a great day!!

David:

Jim Cantore is in Lawrence or Kansas City?? If he is here, then storm cancel-he is the kiss of death-awesome met, but he has the worst luck when it come to covering storms!! It seems to me the wind has shifted a bit to the North-maybe it won't warm so much here-I think the freezing rain/snow line is developing right between Lawrence and Topeka-hopefully it will stay south of me-but this break in the action may allow it to warm?? I don't know-I don't know much-I'm just all freaked out-I want some heavy winter weather!! My son and I just got back in from a bike/sled ride-it is chilly and the roads have ice underneath the snow/sleet-we've prob. gotten about an inch-inch and half!! Hopefully more later if we don't get dry slotted!! Hopefully no rain-need all snow!!

Well, I'm done!!LOL. In all honesty, our temp is already 31 degrees-we're in for a rain event this after noon!! All the models, it seems to me, bring the rain/snow line North of me-too much down time in precip. allowing it to warm up!! It seems you will be in all snow!!! I'm prob. going to get some drizzle and lite snow!! LOL!! We shall see-I bet he is in town because of the MU/KU game tomorrow and he can hit this area and Kansas City both!! I'm hoping for more snow, but man it seems we are going into a rain event here!! Somebody please tell me I'm wrong and I can't read models!! End of rant-David you are going to get dumped-I'm real happy for ya man-it's your turn!! I guess I could be in KC where one local met basically called off the whole storm according to my parents. We have 31 degrees-cloudy skys and an east wind-Bring down some cold air at the 850 levels!! Have a good morning!!

Abot the game tomorrow-cool if we don't play the way we did in the second half yesterday!!! The NWS still has Lawrence getting close to 8 inches-that is a huge storm for us-it's been almost 4-5 years since we've had a storm like this so I'm going to stop complaining-unless of course it's raining here at 6:00 P.M. or we get dry slotted!! Have to go to my inlaws this morning so I'll update later!! Temp. still at 31 with an east wind-cloudy skys but radar filling in to our West and South!!

David and all to the North and West of me: Have fun with this storm-currently in Lawrence it is 34 and drizzeling-this storm is over for me!! I can't even bear to look at the NWS site and see us down graded to nothing with just flurries for tonight!!! I guess we could still get some snow, but when this happens here, at least from my exprience, you can cash it in-I guess I can hope that the mid week sw can bring some snow in-however, what snow cover we had is quickly going bye-bye and temps. will really warm up without snow cover!! It was 10 degrees here yesterday and the temps have done nothing but rise-weather in the mid west!! I've gone from 14 inches 24 hours ago to drizzle-not even enough rain to do anything for the drought!!!! If anyone sees any hope for me, let me know-I'm to bumed out to even look at a weather site and escp. the tv-the tv mets will be saying boy we dodged another bullet-horay!! Oh well-some day it will hit!! have fun!!! I'll post again if we ever it ever turns back to snow!!

Ok: I cheated!! I checked the NWS-we are still in the game for 5 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow-a far cry from yesterday and even this morning, but I'll take 5 inches anytime-esp. considering the past 4 winters!! Looks to be a good plum of moisture rising from the south-our temp is still 33 deg., but Emporia to my SOUTH is 32 with freezing rain-Topeka is at 31 and my parents in KC are at 29!! Our temp did the same thing last weekend!! I'll see what happens later today-maybe this next batch of moisture will cool it down to below freezing and when the low moves out of Texas it will intensify enough to give me some good back side snows-even if it was below freezing, we wouldn't be having that much-our area has been dry slotted a little bit-not complaining, but this is nothing new-that's why we're 20 inches below for the past 3 years!! Well, if I get 5 inches with some 30 mph wind gusts, I'll be a happy camper-the rain today just really bummed me out-silly I know-to be bummed over the weather is pretty silly, but man I thought I was going to have a big dump this time!! have a great day!!

It is looking more and more like ice here rather than snow even tho are still calling up to 4 inches of snow. Looks like a repeat of last Sunday and Monday last week.

I hope my 'Hawks beat Mizzou tomorrow night!!!!!!!!

Jim Cantore is bad luck for us :) SOmeone needs to tell the TWC that he brings bad luck to our area when it comes to storms. Gee I really wanted one BIG snowstorm this winter. This ice and one and two inches of snow at a time is for the birds. KC is way overdue for a big snowstorm!!!!!!!!!!!

David: I don't think he will hurt you-you guys are in a pretty good spot! Once again, I have the only above freezing temp. in the area!!! Even Emporia is at freezing and they are South of me!! Currently looking at moderate rain temps holding at 34!!! My snow totals are being washed down the storm drain with all my snow pack!!!!! The game tomorrow will be tough-I'll be there, but with my luck so far this weekend-lack of snow, Iowa State debacle, I could see KU having quite a tough time!!!

Maybe the magic of Allen Fieldhouse will help KU. :) But then again KU lost to Richmond at home. :: SIGH ::

No.. if they get more then 70 points.. that's their magic number. All wins have come with our total points 70+. ;) Allen Fieldhouse doesn't hurt, though, :D
