Tropical Update: 30 Jan

1) TC Frank (10S). Currently at 16.5S 63.1E (385nm NE of Mauritius) and moving SW at 5mph. Winds are 105mph. Frank is expected intensify at normal climatological rates with wind speeds of 145mph by 48hrs. Meanwhile, Frank is being steered by a mid level ridge to his south.

2) TC 11S. Currently at 10.9S 94.5E (165nm WNW of Cocos Islands) and moving SE at 8mph. Winds are 40mph. 11S is expect to intensify slowly. By the 48hr expect winds of 65mph. This slow intensification is due to weak outflow and weak to moderate wind shear.
