Key West tourist calls cops, reports his marijuana stolen

KEY WEST -- A New York tourist called police to report that several items were stolen from his hotel room, including some high quality Bahamian marijuana.

Jim Devlin, 33, of East Meadow, N.Y., filed the report early Monday morning, according to Key West police. He was not charged because no marijuana was found, police spokeswoman Cynthia Edwards said Tuesday.

Devlin, who told police he's an investment banker, also claimed $50 and a watch were also stolen. He declined to tell police the amount or worth of the allegedly missing marijuana.

``I only want to report the watch, not the money or the weed, because I don't want to tell you how much weed there was,'' Devlin was quoted in the police report.

A man answering the phone Tuesday at the home address Devlin gave police denied having recently been in Key West and claimed to have no knowledge of the police report. A telephone message left at Devlin's workplace, which police list as his home number, was not returned.

Devlin was not listed Tuesday as a registered guest at either the Hilton or the Key Lime Inn, where he told police he was staying until Thursday.

Devlin's story to police fluctuated wildly. He told police that the alleged missing watch was worth $1,800, then $30,000, then $3,

He claims he never made the call??? Maybe he just forgot (insert bong sound here)

While he was at it, did he also mention that his 10 year old son's collection of Cuban cigars was also stolen?
