The Republicans are the only ones that will care that Kerry protested the war in Vietnam when he returned. The Democrats won't care..in fact they will say he is a great American just exercising his American rights. Bush is too smart to use this when campaigning..hell he won't need to!
Does anybody remember The Democrats out there being upset about the non-inhaling, womanizing, Commie loving Clinton? All that is cast aside for Democrats.

The press is always on the Democrat's side. This is nothing new and most of America is finally catching on. Why do you think Fox News is #1 now? A lot of people like to think for themselves and not be told how to think.
Anyway, I don't think Bush will have any problems getting re-elected and no way will it be as close as 2000.

Cheny has probably done an adequate job, but we don't know. At least we haven't heard of any major Snafus. Bush brought Cheny on board because of the experience factor. At this point, I believe that Bush needs to bring in someone new, and give that person an active role in preparation for the '08 election. Bush should do the honorable thing, though and let Cheny finish out this term if he wants to.

I think I'm a member of a minority on this board.......you're welcome to flame me all you want......my ultra-conservative husband trashes my political opinions all the time so I'm used to it <g!>...... I am smack dab in the middle of the road!
You could call me a Centrist - I tend to examine each issue on its own merits. And I vote equally for Democrats and Republicans. My household, including our dog, worked really hard last year from the primary to the general election, to get a Republican State Representative elected to the House.
To me, Cheney is a liability to Bush. I see him as a mystery man in ill health, always hiding out in an unconcealed, secure location. Why? What does he do? Why don't we ever see or hear about him? Where is this secret location and why is he hiding there?
The more I hear of his former company Halliburton's dealings in post-Iraq, the more I wonder how closely he's still tied in with it.
The current crop of Democratic candidtaes hasn't done anything to wow me yet. But Cheney.....hmmmm......... The guy seems like he should be more out there in the public eye......especially now in a campaign year.
I'd personally like to see Bush run with someone a little more electric.
Now I know Cheney is able to raise a lot of money among old-time GOP faithfuls. And my husband has wiped the kitchen floor with my comments. (We do a lot of political wrangling in my house. My son says it drives him crazy!!!)
But anyway, those are my thought.
