Wind howling now...turning cooler
Looks like we can kiss the warm weather goodbye for a day or two. After a high of 69 today, with mostly cloudy skies, the temp has begun to fall. About 10 mins ago, the wind began to howl out of the NW. Temps are on the decline. Low tonight expected to be near 35 with high tomorrow around 43. With gusty NW winds, wind chill will be a factor. Tomorrow night looks to be the coldest night thus far, with a projected low of 21. High wind looks to drop wind chill index into the single digits! BRRRRR

Temp made it down to around 32 this morning. There was some ice on the cars. It's probably around 34 or so now but the wind makes it feel much worse. Nearly froze feeding the calves this morning.
Still up in the air as to what the weekend/first of next week will bring. NWS in Jackson seems puzzled by the forcast. They're not sure whether to say cold with wintry precip, or mild with rain lol. Glad it's them and not me trying to make the forcast.

Tim go for it!!! The worst you can do is bust like I do all the time(or so it seems on winter weather). It is how I learn what I interpreted wrong.
Our locals are still calling for 60's/40's for the Super Bowl. I'm not so sure it isn't a PR ploy. With another front coming in Friday, I have my doubts about that forecast and if strong cyclogenesis occurs in our area or somewhere close in the South then they can kiss that forecast goodbye. Another or still a big pool of ARCTIC AIR just waiting to be tapped and pulled S. It will happen when one of the S/W/lows coming across is far enough South and kicks early enough.

I think the temps will be alot colder this weekend, the NWS Lake Charles seems confused but mention possible pipe busting cold early next week!
PRETTY CONFIDENT IN FORECAST UP TO THIS POINT AND THEN THE FUN
BEGINS! ANOTHER ARCTIC HIGH WILL BE SETUP OVER THE NRN PLAINS AND
THE QUESTION IS WHETHER OR NOT SOME OF THE COLD AIR WILL MOVE INTO
THE AREA AFTER THE LOW MOVES OUT. BELIEVE WE'LL SEE A LITTLE TASTE
ON FRIDAY (WILL NEED TO WATCH THIS CLOSELY FOR POTENTIALLY COLDER
TEMPS) BEFORE STRONG CYCLOGENESIS AND ASSOCIATED FRONTOGENESIS OVER
THE SRN ROCKIES BRINGS WINDS BACK TO THE SOUTH ON SATURDAY. MRF
BRINGS THE FRONT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING AND BLASTS US WITH THE
MOTHERLOAD OF ARCTIC AIR FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK...THOUGH THE EUROPEAN
KEEPS COLDEST AIR WELL TO OUR EAST. WE'VE BEEN WATCHING THE
POSSIBILITY OF THIS SCENARIO UNFOLDING FOR THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS AND
STILL DON'T HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF CONFIDENCE THIS FAR OUT BUT WILL
UNDERCUT GUIDANCE FOR SUN AND EARLY NEXT WEEK. IF THE MRF DOES PAN
OUT...WATCH OUT FOR SOME PIPE BUSTING TEMPS. STAY TUNED!
