ice flows around the waters of NYC

#1 Postby Four Seasons » Mon Jan 26, 2004 11:31 am

the likes not seen in years. This will hamper Ferries and small craft. The last 20 days has averaged 20.2 in Central Park. The coldest 30 day period for this location since 1917 is 19.0 set in 1917-18. The next ten days might not be as cold but who Knows for sure. Are we still in for another record arctic blast in early Feb? Now snow and maybe a lot of it. This winter is becoming harsher than last year. That's saying something.
P.S. Love the spell check option lol.

Unclew,

The Hudson River is filled with ice floes, especially from 158th Street to the George Washington Bridge. 2003-04 is shaping up to a be fantastic winter. Already, we've had one blockbuster snowstorm and extreme cold. Another good storm appears headed for the region.

Nice info, unc. Before winter started, I did not think this winter could rival last winter on either cold or snow. The cold certainly rivals last winter, and with any luck in the next few weeks so will the snow.
