JQ, I'm getting some light rain, but amazingly, the temperatures went I went to sleep last night, was 55º, but when I woke up this morning at 8:30 am, the temperatures have dropped to 41º ...currently, now 39º and still steadily falling ...

any reason for the lack of eastward progression with the snow in raleigh especially? Its just weird...everywhere else returns are much further east

Evaporation cooling ... and the moisture outrunning the best lift ... don't worry, JQ, cuz it'll be continuing to fill and saturate nicely ... RAH's RH's are still very low (52%) with a DP of 8º

Is your map saying 15 inches of snow for Raleigh, Storm? I mmay be reading that map wrong.

maps like that do not take into account freezing rain etc. If it is below freezing it will only think snow, but if it were to stay all snow...maybe just maybe :)

That's the ETA 48 hour accumulated totals (ONLY) ... that's the 00z run, and will soon change to the 12z RUN .. (BTW, it's taking into account both waves and also, does take in ZR/IP as well.)

Well you called it exactly on the CAD being that far south, Storm. I will also say it is snowing hard in Raleigh now.
