Big chances for VA as well with a high prob that the ZR MAY stay further south as well, and allow for MORE SLEET and snow ... South Carolina's ice chances are increasing by the hour, and MOST OF North Carolina to get pummeled with ZR after some IP/SN ...

agreed. and the ageostrophic component is very impressive courtesy of the high to the north. its better IMO to focus more on the 0z and 12z model outputs since they have the latest RAOB data to run off of. providing of course that UPA coverage is decent and the model was initialized well.

From what I read earlier today and a few maps that I saw from the ARL Ready site, the 32º extended all the way TO COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA by 12z Monday Morning (1/26/04)!! ...
The GFS MOS Guidance was Good for Squat since it totally breaks the wedging without foundation and was thus discarded for my purposes, as well as the NGM MOS Guidance ... IMHO ... and IF even the ETA guidance is underestimating the shallow cold air, my goodness, even my ice line will bust TOO FAR NORTH ...

the GFS should come with a warning label.
SURGEON GENERAL's WARNING:
Using the GFS in crucial situations are hazardous to your health, and can increase blood flow, cause nausea and sickness, tend to induce headaches at anomalous arctic outbreaks in long range, and miss CAD in the short range ... and furthermore, can cause hair loss, premature graying of existing hair, and if not careful, can reduce sex drive for the other symptoms described above ...

It's looking more and more serious, and in fact, the 00z ETA P-types are more aggressive in keeping ZR through MOST of NC ...
