its way too dry. the differences between the ETA and GFS QPF are astounding.

i think the GFS is too dry too far west as well. i mean, give me a freaken break .25" of liquid in DCA. thats BS. the GFS has been all over the place with the event while the ETA has basically been consistent and was FIRST to see the event last weekend. the GFS is garbage.

dont you think the gfs would have started to catch on by now, if its indeed going to happen?

hell event he NGM is trending toward more QPF (even despite the fact that it doesnt go out far enough).

the gfs in some cases never catches up until 12 hours before the start of an event.

GFS loses storms during this time! The best models now are the short range like the ETA!

Hopefully GFS will wake up tom!

the GFS is CLEARLY an outlier. and the SREF 24hr prob of at least 10" falls almost right within my area of heaviest accumulation.

If your a SE VA guy like myself this is still good news because this is the continuos run of colder air. But the GFS isn't very good with short tem forecast (or long term for that matter), I wouldn't worry about it if you live in DC, you'll pick up signifigant snow fall (6in+)
