happy to report that my new camera does a wonderful job of catching bright optical effects! due to the extreme cold we are experiencing today, the AM sun kicked out a beautiful halo over Decatur IL as light was being refracted through a thin layer of ice crystals in the atmosphere. thought for sure my fingers were going to fall off till i was done shooting... enjoy! p

Wow ... extreme cold creating the SUN DOGS (mock suns) on either side of the sun at its horizontal point ...
