Does anyone think the I-95 cities will receive a major snowstorm before the end of the month.? I have been dying for one.

I think the I-95 cities from DC north will receive at least a moderate snow event before the end of the month.

From analogs and also the QBO, I believe February offers a better opportunity (though there is one January analog for a big storm).

Already, some of the big cities have received a moderate snowfall with Newark seeing 7.4" and NYC 5.7" in the January 14-15 system. This was not a widespread event and likely is not the last event before the month ends.

another threat of sometihing brewing comes at the end of next week around the 24th. tfrom what i heard, that next time may have a better chance of phasing and allowing the southern jet to bring the moisture further up the east coast...
