Tomorrow and Tuesday will see a brief period of moderation. This has been a consistent idea with regard to the pattern for some time now. However, this brief period of moderation will be temporary and the coldest weather of the season lies just ahead.

Friday, if model guidance is correct and there is analog support for it--could be the coldest day parts of the East have seen in decades. There is a strong probability that Richmond could see a low near 0, and Washington, DC to Boston could see subzero cold Friday morning with NYC possibly seeing its coldest temperature since 1943.

why, I swear to christ they have monkeys making the forecasts. They are just sooo wrong all the time. There will be a warmup on Monday and Tuesday but then temps fall on Wednesday and a system moves in on Thursday bringing snow to much on the mid-atlantic and NE.
