It will retrograde back west but the extent is not yet known obviously...did you expect it to stay in the east for almost a month??

Perhaps its better to let him make his own statement here if he feels like it. More or less try to avoid posting other peoples stuff somewhere unless they told you to do so. I had the same exact thing happen to me a little over a week ago and didnt appericate it and i sure DT may not appericate it as well. He feels like comming here and saying that then fine we will discuss it. Other then that your best bet is to read thru related threads which if you give me long enough i will have my say about whats comming up very shortly. Thanks!

I think it could happen. The question is how long would the east be under a ridge? Hopefully not for the rest of winter.

The discontinuous retrogression of the pattern is what got us into this current pattern ... which was what I talked about 2 weeks ago, before this cold snap ever started ...

exactly right...and the reason why the cold pattern in the east will reverse toward the end of the month. im not saying that the SE ridge will "kill all" so to speak as it relates to wintry wx...or am i expecting MUCH above normal temps...though suffice to say its a reversal none the less.

in the short term...as long as the low is sitting near the aleutians...its not going to warm up anytime soon in the east.
