For the first time so far, I actually heard one of our TV weather folk (you know, the ones who don't have actual met degrees) mention a rather severe arctic outbreak in 14 days.....like off of one of the models we've all been looking at. Specifically stated that this outbreak would be "much colder, much windier and probably record breaking". Now I don't hold my breath on what the TV folk say, but I was surprised he even mentioned it. Does this apply to all of us? Can't say. Does it apply to us SE Texans? I would think so. And yes, I know you can't bet on ANY model 14 days out. But for Kelly, David, Ticka, Mama, etc. we may be looking at "wintry mix". So get your positive thinking caps on and lets see what we can do. Just a heads up for us non-snow nazis.

Dear Barva:
This was on Channel 2 this morning by Anthony Yanez who doesn't even have his degree in Broadcast Meteorology yet. And it wasn't a 14 day forecast, but a specific mention after he gave today's weather. Me personally, I'm headed to Home Depot (forget physical therapy) for snow shovels as I type this. I just found it unusual that it would even be mentioned since you know all of our so-called forecasters would downplay this into the ground.
Do the Snow Dance-it burns calories and makes you look silly.

It looks like we are in for a major hit as well as the rest of the Eastern half of the US and it could begin around thursday or friday of next week. If the connection continues across the poles and our Southern jet stays active with lows traveling along it one or two of those will/could be strong enough to tap into the cold big time and bring it down to us on the coast. Next for the wintry precip to happen we have to have a deep layer of cold air, which we should, and a disturbance coming in from the SW or W either very close to us or to our S that is wrapping plenty of moisture into/over the cold air. As always we wait and watch. GO AWAY SNOW NAZI!!!!!

I wish everyone luck with this-Mets in Kansas City this morning see us with two days in the upper 30's mid week next week, then shooting back into the 50's and 60's for Thursday-Sunday of next week with no real hint of cold or snow (I don't consider two days in the mid 30's as really cold!!!) for the seeable future-I don't nec. agree with them, but they are pretty sold on it. I hope they are wrong!! Anyway, I hope East of the Missouri and South get some-I'll just live through you guys!!!! Have a great day!!

Hey folks... talk about hints! One of the mets. in Cincinnati posted on his 5-day forecast the words "MAJOR STORM POSSIBLE" on Wednesday. I knew that there was a chance this would happen, but he is the first to publicly admit it. I wrote him an e-mail telling him how much people like me appreciate him sticking his head-out and talking about possible storms. I admire people like that, and this gentlemen that was the topic of this thread should be commended for going above the norm to warn the public that something is working up.
BTW, it is going to Arctic cold here this weekend, the high tomorrow for Dayton is 16 with a low of 4. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! even for Ohio!
