Updated Map for Thursday/Friday SE, MA, OH/TN Valley's Snow

#1 Postby Guest » Wed Jan 07, 2004 1:07 pm

Have cut back on Snow Amounts as it seems the dry air wants to win out especially to the west of the apps in the OH/TN Valley's. The amounts i do have can be thanked in part to the high snow ratio's we will have out to the west especially in the OH Valley................On a side note it wouldnt suprise me a bit to see Coastal VA/Ne NC to see the highest amounts of snow from this system with some posible getting up to 4 inches in isolated areas as these areas will have more precip and return flow from the gulf to work with.

Looks good, although the lower amounts in the ranges seem more likely than the higher amounts. And you were smart for excluding my area from any 1"+ accumulation, as I expect to see only a few flurries at most.

Nice map. We have had dewpoints today in the low single digits. It will take a considerable amount of moisture to moisten that arctic air so that I can see some snow. Therefore, I am calling for a dusting to possibly as much as 1, perhaps 2 inches of snow in Woodbridge. However, a dusting to a few flurries are much more likely. I place the chc of a dusting to a few flurries at 50 percent at this time.

Pretty good map KOW. As Jeb stated however, think the Fredericksburg area will see only a dusting to MAYBE 1 inch. 1-3 would be very nice but it is so dry. Any snow that does fall will be the soft fluffy stuff and may have a time trying to accumulate.

That ground will sure be cold enough to support accumulation! These are the kinds of conditions where light snow can fall and passing cars will blow it around!!

Friday:

Cloudy. Chance of light snow or flurries. Little or no accumulation highs in the upper 30s. Northeast winds around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.

And even if there is no accumulation at all down here in Roa Rpds...those flakes will still be pretty as they "dance" in the air!
