Snow For the Deep South Maybe???

#1 Postby southerngale » Tue Jan 06, 2004 12:56 am

Ok, first off, I don't really understand these maps very well. But this looks good if it would somehow by some miracle verify. I don't think the GFS is supposed to be that great this far out, but I'm not really sure on that either. Please post your comments. I'm just WISHING for snow I know.

The problem with the maps you posted is that it is the GFS more than 7 days in the future. That is nothing more than a pretty picture which has almost no chance of actually happening.

Well dang it then! Hey, didn't the GFS forecast Iowa's snowstorm about 2 weeks out? :)

Actually it did pick up on that system about 2 weeks out. Which is unusual but does happen here and there. As far as this goes i would give it more time to wait and see. Keep a eye on it daily and see what happens. Either way it does look to stay cool to cold down that way.

Keep the enthusiasm going Kelly. And you are reading the maps right-IF THEY VERIFY-IF IF IF IF IF IF IF!!!! Like KOW says it looks to me like we will be at or below normal temps wise for the next 2 weeks or so, as opposed to the spring weather we were having 4 days ago!!! NOW CHANT!! VERIFY!! VERIFY!! VERIFY!! OOPS!!!! I'm sounding like Jeb!  J/K Jeb!!! Couldn't help myself!!!!
