When I saw that, my heart was gladdened........but we'll see.
Tomorrow we are breaking out the shorts and t-shirts for 70 degrees, looks like it's time for an October-style OBX jebwalk.
But come late next week I may be bundling up but good.

Enough of that blasted pac jet!!! I want a DEEP TROUGH right here in the East for a change. It's January and its high time for some winter weather.

you wont love it when we get back to the negative phase and the PAC jet comes raging back --- all in all the MJO is VERY much a double edged sword...

No, I suppose I won't. I only wish I could go live somewhere that is so cold and snowbound that the pac jet doesn't figure------maybe the central Canadian Rockies at about 7,000 feet------I wouldn't have to worry about my snow melting anymore. No more dumb highs in the 60s in January. The Pacific jet can do its worst------and I'd be content-----no more warming trends.
Man I do NOT like a strong pac jet------not one little bit. Those poor folks living in the Pac Northwest won't either----what with all the rain and mudslides they'll have to put up with. But the ski resorts out there will be so happy.
At our expense.
D@mn I HATE a strong Pac Jet. With a vengeance.

ENJOY THAT WEEKEND WARMTH
A chill is looming and a big chill at that. But it's January, we expect colder surges of arctic air, not break out into shorts and tee shirts. This is much like 2000 on this date when the temperature rose to 68 degrees at BWI and DCA. So it had been this warm not too long ago on this date in January.

if DT is the best a analyzing/predicting the behavior of the PAC jet...I am most definately the second. And when he is NOT here better than anyone else on this board when it comes to that feature. So you can take solice in the fact that when i say that there WILL be periods of time when the PAC jet relaxes this winter...im not blowing smoke up your ass.

Thanks for all the kind words folks, I'm sure it'll cool down here soon enough.
If you like spring, today's definately your day here in Woodbridge........we are observing 72 degrees. We have a 72/46 Temperature/Dewpoint spread. It feels like I'm on the Outer Banks back on Oct 12 with that OBX benchmark 77/64 T/D spread. I really enjoyed some sweet jebwalks down there!
Yup folks are out in shorts and t-shirts, but I wouldn't get used to it------that arctic air will be moving south in a few days and it will be time to bundle up good!!!
Come on SNOW and strong 30 - 50 mph winds and frigid cold! It's January and it's time
