sounds like what a frontal system does in the summer.

The forecast changed... cold front now expected to move through at least a portion of Florida, before diffusing. :)

And Jeb i am NOT Hyping any kinda of super cold either. . Trust me though i do believe by midmonth or perhaps shortly there after the colder artic air will make its way back into your area.....I do seriously hope we can squeeze in a mega blizzard with 3 feet of snow and drifts to 10 ft for you Jeb so you can make use of the shovels of yours and you can be in snow bliss!

Thank you very much for the thought, King of Weather!! :) :)

If we DID see a 3 foot blizzard in the Woodbridge/Dale City region, I would truly be in snow hound Heaven!!! :) :) :) :)

I would be digging snow and taking 7-mile jebwalks and checking out those absolutely IMMENSE snow piles and blasting that Christian worship music over my CD headphones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEAH BABY that's what its all about with me in Winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it CAN happen.............then BRING IT ON!!!!!........but I am very much afraid that the SE Ridge does have other plans for the Mid Atlantic this winter. However, that does tend to bode VERY WELL for you!!!!! :) :) :)

So, if I don't get snow, you will, and you can dig it for me!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Figured i would give this a bump seeing how we have now entered the time frame from my initall discussion on this which right now is looking very good for the most part!!!!!

Right now i see no reason at all to back off of this idea with the Cold artic air headed for the eastcoast and well the Storm looks to be right on time as well as does the second one perhaps in a little over a week which should unlease alot of the artic air into the eastern US!!!!!!!

I agree with this analysis in the first post of this thread. One thing that will be interesting with this artic air is that it appears that upon arrival, the very cold air could last for a sustained period and keep getting reenforced until, at least, the end of the month. Within the next week, we should have very interesting artic air to watch as it gradually overtakes the eastern half of the US. It should be interesting to see just how could it's going to get for many. The opportunity for extremely bitter cold does exist and we'll all just have to watch how this unfolds.....will be looking forward to reports from many as the weather reaches their particular area. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.....

The way I see it is that we will get our cold snaps in the Northeast
but nothing that will last long enough to mention.

I myself was expressing in Oct that the Northeast will probably have
a mild winter this year.

I also expressed that we will probably have a late start with winter
and an early spring.

Now with these cold snaps.......we may end up seeing a storm or
two during that period of time if precip is in place.

We only have 80 days left with winter and allot can happen between
now and then.

I am just going to take whatever comes my way this winter..........
I don't really care anymore at this point in time.

Those of you who feel that we will see that artic flow over us....
then so be it.

Those of you who don't see it over us.......then so be it as well.

Before we all know it.............winter will be over. Everyone
upset about something.

Who really cares.............just enjoy what you get.

It's been a very strange season so far and as I said before......
even the best are missing it.

Enjoy the rest of the season and get out and enjoy the real world/ :)

Yes folks, that's right, our high on Monday should only reach 58, not 78. So get out those parkas and snow boots, winter will be here for almost 24 hours! Now excuse me while I run out and get firewood and get those thermals from the storage shed.

Yes EB............get out the thermals 4 sure.

We will get some cold snaps but nothing that will
last long.

A couple of days here and a couple of days there.

No big deal.

Spring is around the courner 4 sure.

I did not say winter is over.........I said winter will
be short lived. :)

bumpy bumpy bumpy!!!!

Now Lehigh ummm did you say short lived only a couple of days of cold??????And i do believe the midwest/lakes system hit as well......

And lets see the NW is getting its cold and snows and now the cold is covering pretty much of the eastern US with the exception of the SE which i basically said wouldnt happen untill the 10th or later!!!!!!!!

Either way everything is rolling along nicely and as expected.
