I am in Hamburg, actually on the Hamburg-Evans Line, about a mile east of the lake. They are in ski country, and probably get more, but we've got 6 inches so far and it just picked back up.

If you are under that Lake Erie band attm, I envy you. Look for it to last for awhile, wouldn't be surprised if there are 2-4"/hr snowfall rates. The core of that cold 500 low is heading across the niagara peninsula helping to focus dynamic lifting/moisture into that band, along with the added instability. Until this afternoon, this whole event was looking like a dud with the relatively weak delta ts and pestering low level shear. Forecast amounts will likely be low where this band persists.

Well, it totaled 6 inches. The low end of the call, but 6 more than we had.

I am glad I didn't get in the sweet spot this Lake Effect Snow event, and I'll tell you why. There was too much shear which prevented the significant bands from forming on Wednesday Afternoon, and that was when the heaviest snow was expected. If I was in the sweet spot on this event, I would've been a little upset because of the 6-12 (iso. plus) ended up 2-4 inches total. The heaviest snow ended up being on Tuesday Night (when we received 1 1/2 inches) and the area in warning was 1-3 inches. On Wednesday, the warning area received another 1-2 inches.

Enjoy the lake effect! We need a North Wind to get hammered by the lake effect, so I am always hoping for the winds to be north.
