For those in the Midwest who are starved for snow

Yes, it can snow in the Midwest. Such cities as Chicago can receive major snowstorms.

Winter 2003-04 is still in its early stages, so one should not write off the prospects of at least a meaningful snowstorm even if the occurrence of blockbuster snowstorms is less frequent. In fact, some of the model guidance is trending toward providing parts of the Midwest with a holiday gift of snowfall.

For now, some photos from Chicago to offer reassurance that it can snow in the Midwest.

One of the biggest blizzards was the Blizzard of 1949 ... with Nebraska the hardest hit ...
