DEC 23RD..........R WE GOING TO SEE A WHITE CHRISTMAS?????

#1 Postby Lehigh » Mon Dec 15, 2003 2:55 am

Something or nothing may be happening on the 23rd of Dec as others think........

Look at the radar images below and you will see for yourself...........

These images will change automatically so check back.

If any event occurs on that day regarding snow............I will be surprised.

I see these radar images flip flopping so I myself is unsure.

Is there ANY reason you refer to model forecasts as radar images?

LOL............coming down on me kinda hard.

OK........I will refer the images as model forecast.

Sorry about that.

I am not a professional forecaster and I really never
new the proper term as you guys have put it to me.

I have always thought they called them radar images. :-?

I guess that makes me look real bad. :-?

I am learning like everyone else but at least I feel that
I can give people an idea what is coming, even when I use
the wrong terminology............at least they get the
idea.

I like to use them..............

Gives those who don't quite understand an idea
if they see an image.

They can see what the cold air mass looks like
and what precip looks like.

I think it helps them as it does for me.

Sorry if I sounded mean. See the trouble with the GFS is that past 7 days it does a wretched job. Even from model run to model run it can completely flip around.

Lehigh, I was going to bring this up soon after you posted, this morning at 2:55 am EST.
There are "future radars" that look into the future, such as "Future Track" and "Predictor" from local TV stations.
However, they do not indicate low pressure systems, high pressure systems, pressure readings [in millibars] and isobars.

No problem, Lehigh. It is nice to get things straight after those unfortunate times we aren't aware of something, as well as when we make an error, i.e. say the wrong thing (to soon).
