Which one will be the big one in 2004?

OK, hope I'm not "stepping on toes" or doing this too early, but why not, right?

I say Ivan....something in that name I just do NOT like. Actually there are other names that give me the willy-nillies for 2004, but Ivan takes the prize for The Name coming in so far. Plus, look at the recent trend:

2001 - Iris....one of Belize's worst hurricanes ever.

2002 - Isidore....caused major damage all over the Caribbean, the Yucatan, and Louisiana.

2003 - Isabel....do I really need to explain this one?

Could it happen again? We'll see....I know I'm not basing this on anything more than a particular letter, but I found it interesting. So what name will it be?

1. Earl

In 2001, I guessed

3. Chantal
2. Lorenzo
1. Humberto

I was wrong, but in 2002 I guessed:

3. Dolly
2. Gustav
1. Isidore

I got Isidore right, and for 2003 I thought:

3. Mindy
2. Fabian
1. Juan

I was right on Fabian and Juan. Will 2004 be right?

Ivan's record:

1998: 90mph fish, never even getting past 45W

1992: Not enough named storms.

1986: Not enough named storms.

1980: 105mph fish, never even getting past 45W

HD, I was thinking the same thing.

Male names were added (with the female names) in 1979.

and in the Eastern Pacific Male names were first used a year earlier in 1978.

While Earl and Ivan are two of the names I don't trust, others sound dangerous like Charley, Frances, Hermine and Karl.
