Even though you can get lots of cold and snow in those high elevations in the south, I would much rather have my residence in the higher latitudes. The sun angle is too high in Arizona in winter. One of the great things about winter in the north are the extremely short days and the noontime look of the sun that resembles a June evening.
That's the great thing about Az.....we DO get a TON of snow, my average snowfall here at the house is about 132".....we get on the average 12"-14" per storm, 5 days later, it's gone JUST in time for another round, take for instance, this week, we have this system coming in now, ending Friday afternoon, then ANOTHER round of heavy snow Sunday thru Tues!
