Christmas Candies and Baking

#1 Postby azsnowman » Wed Dec 03, 2003 7:59 am

Just curious, how many here make candy and bake cookies etc for Christmas gifts? As a tradition, I'm doing my Caramel Corn of course, Michelle's doing her fudge, truffels and thousands of sugar and gingerbread men cookies.

I bake lots of Christmas cookies, and bring them with me to all the family gatherings. A few years ago, I went nuts and baked so many that I was still eating them in March.

It's just not xmas unless I make Spritz cookies with my cookie press. That almond flavoring makes all the difference! I also have a cream cheese recipe that you make wreath cookies out of, also using the cookie press. Last xmas I tried caramel popcorn and it was a big hit. One year I made tea mix and gave that out to neighbors and teachers. So I try to mix it up each year but I always make my Spritz!

Baking is a biggee for me around this time of year. I usually make 2 big baskets of goodies, one for my mom's house, one for Chad's parents' house. Cookies, muffins, brownies.... All the good things my hips need no more of, LOL.

I usually bake cookies to bring to work with me. I haven't done so yet.

We're having an office party of the 18th and I think I'll whip up a batch of the toll house cookie bars.

I wish I could get my baking started! I really need a few quiet days home just baking and baking.

My neighbors just might get the orange tea mix I posted the recipe for. It's easy to throw together. Just toss in some candy, tie a ribbon on the holiday gift bag and you're done. Hate doing something so easy though.....why are there not enough hours in the day? LOL
