Good...get it over with now so it doesn't hit northern MS and TN/KY during my drive.

Duck if your drive is like the 20th-25th range you may get it anyway if the current progs for a bitter cold system coming down during that time frame hold.

Stopped snowing here for the night. Amounts ranged from 9 - 10 inches in the Lincoln area to 4 to 6 inches in the Omaha-Council Bluffs area, to an inch or less to the north over northeast Nebraska. Now all we have to deal with is the blowing and drifting snow in the 20 to 40 mph winds.

Yup, I'm leaving either late on the 19th or early on the 20th to get there for a family reunion on the 21st and returning on the 27th/28th.

I don't mind cold as long as there's no snow or ice (especially ice -- that's what killed my dad...icy roads when he was travelling back home for Thanksgiving).

I'm not sure if I should re-route my usual path or what. Usually, I take I-10 from Houston through Louisiana, then head north on 55 all the way up through Mississippi (the part that takes the longest), fight the spaghetti mess at 240/40 in Memphis and then head east, then take 65 north to Bluegrass Parkway and then I know I'm almost there.

When I moved here, I took 65 south all the way to 20 (because Hurricane Georges kept me from going any further south), then I drove straight through to Jackson, Monroe, Shreveport, and Longview and then took 59 south to 45 to here. But that took forever and I don't want to take two days to get there. Then again, weather could be a factor in slowing me down.

And I sure as heck don't think it would be faster to drive right on up to Arkansas, straight through to Memphis and then on the rest of my usual path. Plus, I imagine it will be more wintery (wintry?) that way.

Anyone have any suggestions?
