...WINTER STORM MOVING TOWARD WISCONSIN...

.LOW PRESSURE OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS IS MOVING NORTHEAST TOWARD THE REGION...AND WILL BRING THE FIRST WIDESPREAD SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL OF THE SEASON TO MUCH OF CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST WISCONSIN. THE HEAVIEST BAND OF SNOW SHOULD FALL FROM STEVENS POINT AND WAUPACA NORTHEAST TO MARINETTE AND IRON MOUNTAIN MICHIGAN.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS THAT A SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATION OF SNOW IS
EXPECTED...ALONG WITH STRONG WINDS.

LIGHT RAIN WILL MOVE INTO EAST-CENTRAL WISCONSIN EARLY THIS EVENING. THE RAIN WILL BECOME STEADY DURING THE EVENING...THEN MIX WITH AND CHANGE TO SNOW OVERNIGHT. 4 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...WITH THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS WEST OF GREEN BAY AND THE FOX VALLEY. STRONG NORTH WINDS GUSTING TO 30 MPH WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ON WEDNESDAY.

IF YOU HAVE PLANS TO TRAVEL LATE TONIGHT OR WEDNESDAY...BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND POOR VISIBILITIES. LISTEN FOR UPDATES FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
