This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I know one of you will know this answer so please help out ole MGC cause I don't have the time to research this compelling subject. Well, at least my husband is happy as I believe this is the first TC in the Atlantic named Peter which of course is his name.................MGC

In 1887 2 storms formed in December but it is a first for the eastern atlantic region to have a storm forming west of the CV islands by 800 miles in this month.

And if you consider that the November storm lasted into December, that year had 3 tropical storms/hurricanes in December!

Correction: 1887 HAD 19 storms on the AOML reanalysis project ... not 17, but yes, the only other time that December had 2 storms form in December was that year ... and also of note, 1887 had a pre-season storm as well. The one thing different ... at one point, BOTH December storms were concurring at the same time ...
