Stop The Madness

#1 Postby Stormcenter » Tue Dec 09, 2003 12:01 pm

Here I'm trying to do my work and my brother calls (A Tropical weather nut like me) to tell me there is possible hurricane Peter forming!!!!! I didn't even know we had a disturbance anywhere. I thought for sure after Odette that was it and the kitchen was closed for the season.

Look folks we have a serious weather problem (Can you say Global Warming?) when there are tropical storms/hurricanes forming in December. I don't care if they are in the Carribean or Atlantic. It's just NOT suppose to happen. Next thing you know we'll have a New Year's Day storm. It's not as crazy of thought. I guess those tracking maps will just not be going to storage anytime soon.

Stormcenter - it has been a crazy year, for both snow in the eastern U.S. and for systems in the Atlantic tropics. I don't think global warming is the cause - I just think it is one of those fluke occurances that you will never again see in your lifetime.

I agree... I think it's probability. Who knows, this kind of thing could have happened a lot over the course of a thousand years or so.

In fact I'm sure when the Earth was a lot warmer millions of years ago we probably had Cat 4s in the middle of February.

I don't really put too much stock in all this "Global Warming" stuff. But even if it is happening, we humans will adapt just as we always have to many things over millennia.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
