Update from the Boston Area

#1 Postby jack615 » Sat Dec 06, 2003 6:11 pm

It has been snowing here hard all day long. I first measured 5-6 inches at 11am but went out again at 5pm and now we got 11 inches here in snowy Lynn Mass. There has been about 4-5 inches inches since 11am here and it continues to come down and visibility has been very low.

Well I havent been out today, but looking at what I can see and with other reports from the county. I would have to say 25-30 inches is on the ground here in Lynn Mass.

SOUNDS like a good estimate

15 inches is a very very conservative number for bean town. It looks as though 18-30 inches of snow along with 6 foot drifts is a good likelihood for the boston area. A recent report of 27.5 inches with 6 foot snow drifts was received from Everett, just 3-4 miles north of downtown Boston.
