Jeb, glad you are back on. Starting to get breezy in Alexandria, but still 34 degrees at the surface. Snow still on the ground but it is slowly melting. Tonight into tomorrow should prove interesting. I know I did not expect to get what we received last night. My daughter wants to build her first snowman, maybe she will get her chance.

This is SnowBlitzJEB reporting from Woodbridge, Va where we received 2.2 inches of snow and sleet last night. At 150 am this morning the sleet started again, then at 240am it was sleet and rain.

It's 12 Noon now and we have 32 degrees, dewpoint 24, NNE winds 6 to 14mph with a steady light rain falling, no ice thank God.

We still have an inch and a half of snow on the ground, to my utter surprise! There is even some snow still on the roads!!!

Stay tuned folks, I will be updating this throughout the day-------It's going to be very interesting later this afternoon and tonight into tomorrow.

Feel free to chime in, everyone!!! Those are some interesting reports that were submitted after I signed off last night! :)

Edit: Sry, inadvertent double post lol, (I hate to repeat myself lol)

2PM

Observing light rain showers here at 2pm; temps still holding at 33 degrees, dewpoints near 25 degrees. Low clouds moving from N. NNE winds at 5 mph and gusts to 16.

Since Mike in Ashburn reported snow, that would place the rain/snow demarcation line about 30 to 50 miles NNW of my position.

This Intellicast Map is interesting as well.

I'd sure like to see that rain/snow line move south and east and stay there this time. It would be nice.

You folks up in PA, NY, thereabouts, you're on the front lines of this storm!! I hope you like snow!! Some of you will see upwards of TWO FEET!!! It will be wind-driven !!

All I can say is, Enjoy it!!!!!! :)

You folks deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You enjoy that snow!!!!! I'm content with my 2 inches so far :) However, if we should be so lucky as to get more snow, I'll be even more content! :)

Come ON, rain/snow line, move south and east of me! Please........

And storm system........please move very slowly...........prolong the snow.........

5PM Update

Temperature is 32 degrees. The dewpoint is 24 degrees. The winds are N at 5 mph, with gusts to 15. We have noticed more NW component to the winds in the past hour. We have light sleet, it went to all sleet again 15 minutes ago. Pressure is steady at 29.89.

We lost the solar insolation this hour, which is very good for accumulations. :)

Please stay tuned.......................Will keep you updated well into this evening.....

Next update will be at 7pm, stay tuned..................

715PM

The winds are becoming more North and Northwesterly now, at 7 mph, Gusts to 20.

Temperature has fallen to 31 degrees, dewpoint is 23 degrees.

We have a sleet/snow mix; progressively more and more snow is mixing in with the sleet.

The roads are becoming coated with sleet pellets, I think they will turn white in another half hour to an hour. Parts of the top of my car that the snow melted from, or slid off of, are now turning white from sleet and snow. The top of my red fence is turning white again.

It looks as if we will be getting more accumulating snow tonight, possibly into tomorrow morning.

If you live in PA, NY and points north and east, Watch Out!!!!! Some of you in those localities may wind up with over 2 FEET of snow!!!!!!

Is this a major storm for this time of the winter or what?!!!!!

BRING IT ON!!!!! is all I can say!!!!!!!

Next update's at 8pm!!!! Stay tuned, we have lots more for ya!!!!!! :)

Time for the 8PM Update................

Our temperature is hanging tough at 31 degrees, with a dewpoint of 23 degrees. The winds are N at 7mph, with gusts to 18.

We have sleet pellets with some snow mixed in. Seems the rain/snow line wants to take its sweet time easing south into my neck 'o the woods.

I have noticed the rain/snow line has sunk about 80 miles south since 1pm this afternoon. Just keep on going south please.......we'd like to see some snow!! :)

Next update is at 9pm................Stay tuned................

9PM Update......................

Our temperature is 31 degrees. The dewpoint is 24 degrees. Winds are out of the North at 8 mph, with Gusts to 18.

We have finally changed over to all snow here. We have light snow, and it's turning the streets and much else white again, much like last night, except that this time, hopefully we won't have to bother with that darn sleet.

I will keep you all updated through this evening and probably on into 1 or 2 am.

We should start to pick up more accumulations here now.

Stay tuned...................

10PM Update.........................

At ten pm, we have 31 degrees and a dewpoint of 23 degrees.

Winds are North at 6 mph, with gusts to 17.

We have very light snow.

I have noticed the radar returns in the past hour, that are indicating something that really does not surprise me. The precipitation in my region is diminishing. We have the cold air, and we have snow, not rain or sleet or even a mix, but the radars are showing a lessening of moisture in my area.

Thus, I am now predicting a 60% chance of snow flurries for Washington DC and vicinity. I think that there is probably an outside chance of an inch of snow from passing snow showers by about 10am tomorrow morning.

Usually, when there is an energy transfer to a coastal low, this usually means that northern Virginia ends up with light snow or next to nothing.

However, I won't complain, poor Greg down in Richmond didn't get any snow, I did get 2 inches last night, and there is still an inch on the grass here. That was sure some nice snow we got last night, I wish Greg could have had some of it.

I have really enjoyed, even savored, all of the excitement of this storm along with everyone else here.

Although I am 98% certain that this is the end of the snow for Woodbridge for this go-around, you can count on one thing:

I am cheering you guys on in the Northeastern Corridor!!!

I hope you enjoy that snow!!!! :) I'm hard-core to the last, even when the snow dries out over Woodbridge!!! I hope you guys get 2 to 3 feet, whipped around by 40 mph winds!!! :):):)

ENJOY THAT BLIZZARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!! ENJOY IT FOR ALL OF US HERE IN VIRGINIA!!!! THIS IS YOUR BIG BLIZZARD, AND I'M BEHIND YOU 150% !!!!!!!

FOR ALL OF YOU IN THE NORTHEAST, ALL I CAN SAY IS,

WOOOOOOOOO-----HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though I believe our snow is over, there will be another update at 11pm.........

1130PM Update................

We have 30 degrees here, with 23-degree dewpoints. Winds are north at 7 mph, with gusts to 17.

We have, to my surprise, steady light snow, that has accumulated a third of an inch. Hmmmm.......perhaps we might get a few inches after all........

The roads are turning white, it looks pretty out there. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.........

Next update's at midnight.............. Stay Tuned........

Time for the Midnight Update....................

We just fell to 29 degrees, with a dewpoint of 22 degrees.......

Winds are North at 8mph, with gusts to 18 mph.

Snow continues to fall here, and the radars show more snow coverage by the minute..........I am thinking we could pick up 3 inches by 9am.

Next update is at 1am..........

The 115AM Update.................

We have just fallen to 28 degrees here. The dewpoint is 20 degrees. The winds are North at 8 mph, with gusts to 18.

We have snow falling, and the radars continue to fill in. We have picked up about half an inch tonight. If you count the 2.2 inches we received last night, that makes 2.7 inches total here.

We might pick up an inch or two overnight, then another inch by about 10AM before this shuts off. Winds will pick up some overnight.

The roads are white. It's looking nice and wintry out there. I may or may not do a final update near 2am. In any case, I will be back around 11am or so with final totals for Woodbridge.

Everyone enjoy their snow.........It still appears that the Northeast will get clocked with heavy snow and high winds through Sunday.........take care, and take it easy shoveling all that snow up there this weekend.
