This is not good for the Dominican Republic in terms of the winds and rain they will get but also not good for Puerto Rico because as the track is adjusted more to the right more rain PR will get and we dont want another rain event.

Here is the discussion of this advisory that says about the track and comparing it with Lenny in 1999.They say that the models keep insisting it to go Ne and they will stick with it although they moved the track more to the east.

What is also worrisome is that the last discussion implies the storm will continue to gather steam, which I found surprising given what I heard yesterday about shear increasing in the area. Slow moving, gathering steam, moving further east than anticipated at a time when many people will not be paying attention. The tropical storm warning now extends to the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, the models have been increasing the risk probability for Puerto Rico. I think it will not be long before we are put under a watch if the trend continues. Cross your fingers.

Agree that if the eastern trend continues PR has to be included in a watch or even a warning for at least western PR.

Luis - I am sorry to hear that Puerto Rico may get rain from Odette. This is certainly something you do not in light of all the flooding rain PR has received in the past month.
