'Pro' Mets and Hype

I am home today and turned on 5 different NEWS chan's and TWC and i almost fell over. Not to be arrogant, as i don't know diddly about Wx like some of the real Pros on this and other boards, but these NEWS people are just unbeleivable. They are freaking out and overdramatizing this upcoming thing like crazy. Heres the thing, i can see if they THOUGHT (by believing a wrong forecast) folks were gonna get say 8-20 inches. BUT they are saying OMG, OMG, better take cover, your area could see 1-2" (snow). I got friends in Wisconsin who call 1-2" bad foreplay, i mean that don't even raise an eyebrow. Is it they have run out of MJackson, LPeterson, GBush and other lame stories to cover so now they are trying the same 'hype-spins' formulas on the WX? .....Get a life, i think i'm gonna quit watching news altogether, its one of the worst programs (since its all opinion and NO facts) on TV, next to fake Reality shows. I know its nothing new, it does seem to bew amplifying though. The prob with this is they get every hype believer (there are alot of them in my town) running out to the store like its the Apocalypse. Jeeez.

PS - Jim Cantore ain't bad though. King you oughta see the local mets here NOW! One of them was the Stations' Catering (NO Met training) lady 2 years ago and the other is Drapers Wife! Can you believe it?

Did i mention almost 90% of these local mets are SNOW HATERS ! On top of their drama king-queen temper tantrams, they are always whining about how much a drag it is and how they wish it was 80 degrees outside..... LAY-WHo-SERRRSS!!! Move to Florida then !

That's are NEWS chan's as well when it drops to freezing, and as for iceing, sleet, or snow you would think the world is coming to a end...

yeah, i'd like to give them a big Ace Ventura Lay-Who-Serrrrrrrrrrs! Get a life, get some brains and/or originality. Its like they deliver 90% Smoke up your ars, backed up by 0-10 facts which are prone to fraud. They hope the veiwer will be so SENSATIONALIZED by their delivery of BS (which has a precise formula and sylabus developed by lab coat techs who have no clue as to how real people feel) that you wont dig further into the facts. As long as you watch, they couldnt care less what you think or learn. The stupid facial accents and vocal slurs they use to try to enhnce their lame story kills me to. Then there are the local car commercials.... ARGGGGGGGHHH!!

I like it when they send out all their reporters to cover the upcoming storm and you get this line "Well Jim it's cold out here and look's like it could do something any minute, back to where it's warm"..........they crack me up

...Totally..... A real Wx report is like one earlier this year during Isabel on TWC and Mike Sidel actually blew away ! THAT was a GOOD report, and he didn't have to say a word (good thing too, he aint no Jim Cantore) !!!!

What is hysterical is when we have winter weather predicted here in Houston!!! Freak out is a very mild term for how the mets around here act when it gets really nasty(meaning cold enough to snow or ice). I always enjoy listening to them talk about how cold it is getting when the temps begin lowering in the fall and what they are talking about is maybe 60º!! :roll:

Of course it is all relative to your location(and/or experience). Same goes for when it starts warming up to summer and they are talking how hot it is at 85º!! :roll:
