Winter Storm Forming on East Coast
8AM EST, December 4, 2003
The first taste of winter has hit the east
coast as a winter storm pushing from
the Midwest has begun to reform off the
southeastern U.S. coast.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain has fallen
from Northeast Georgia and
northwestern South Carolina, into
western North Carolina and Virginia.
Below freezing temperatures extend as
far south as the northern suburbs of
Atlanta. The WeatherBug live sensor in
Ball Ground, Georgia was reading 32
degrees at 7:30 on Thursday morning.
The impending storm has caused
forecast offices to post a wide range of
winter weather advisories from the
Catskills in southern New York down to
northeastern Georgia.
This is a complex and developing storm
system. People from North Carolina to
southern New England should monitor
the developing storm closely and keep
their WeatherBug active in their system
tray. Check your WeatherBug often for
all the latest forecast updates and
winter weather advisories.
