So far, the suspect isn't talking; in the meantime, I doubt seriously if she will be found alive (lived there, know the area well...LOTS of places to "do-and-dump" which searchers will have a HARD time finding). :grrr:

This story broke late Saturday or Sunday. Dru Sjodin has been missing since Saturday, November 22nd, two weeks ago this coming weekend, as she was leaving work at the Grand Forks Mall in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. has never killed those that he has abducted.

However, he has assaulted and, on one occasion, used a weapon. So, it's possible that this time, he went too far, killed his victim, and had to dump her body. I pray that's not the case.

But what I don't get is why he was out on the streets in the first place. He was a three-time convicted offender. What happened to "three strikes -- you're out?" Shouldn't he have been in prison for life? He was classified as a "Level 3 predatory offender," which criminalists agree is someone at a high risk for re-offending.

http://www.doc.state.mn.us/level3/Offen ... OID=108212

Offense Information:
Offender has a history of sexual contact and attempted kidnapping with adult females. Contact included penetration in two instances. Offender used force and has used a weapon to gain compliance. Offender was previously known to one victim, not previously known to two victims.

Sorry about this... not sure how I doubled post pretty much the same thing. It obviously wasn't an accidental double post. Please forgive me, thanks.

We are way too lenient on sex offenders. This guy was a Level 3 offender. He should have never been out on the streets, period.

Well, the Grand Forks PD isn't tipping their hand yet, but they did say that blood found inside Rodriguez' car matches Dru Sjodin's blood type (AB), and they have evidence that he didn't show up for his job, and WAS at Columbia Mall at the time and on the day she went missing.

Trouble is, the State's Attorney is not giving him any deals, except the possibility of keeping him out of the "general population" when he is finally incarcerated...and his defense counsel told him NOT TO TALK.

Therefore, he has NO incentive to come clean about what happened to Ms. Sjodin, or where she may be, at all. :grrr:

Meanwhile, the clock's ticking...
