CONFIDENCE IS LOW IN THE COMPUTER MODELS FOR WEEKEND.......

#1 Postby LehighValleyForcaster » Wed Dec 03, 2003 5:03 am

MY CONFIDENCE IS LOW IN THE COMPUTER MODELS FOR THIS WEEKEND AND IN EXACTLY HOW THIS SITUATION WILL PLAY OUT AT THIS TIME.

There is still the potential for a major snow storm in the Northeast but things can still change.

I know I was excited yesterday about the event occuring but I must also look at the situation that it may not occur or be as strong as it looked yesterday.

We all should know by Friday at least to how this system will all come together and how much snow, if any, will fall.

My hopes are up but at the same time not sure yet.

I can see why you have doubts. Not only are the computer models not in agreement, but a lot of the forecasts and meteorologists' discussions I have seen in the past 24 hours are conflicting. Larry Cosgrove and Weather53 do not see any major snow event from this, while some others (including Joe Bastardi) seem to think this could be a major Nor'Easter.

For now, I will continue thinking this will be primarily a rain event for DC through NYC and points east, as well as the immediate NW suburbs of these cities.
