A freeway ramp used by many drivers who work in downtown Fort Worth is closing permanently today.
The closure of the northbound Interstate 35W entrance ramp from Weatherford Street is needed to make room for expansion of the freeway's main lanes, the Texas Department of Transportation said.
Motorists can instead connect to northbound I-35W at Pharr Street. That route, which will be marked by signs, will add 69 seconds to the average commute, officials said. To use the new route, follow Weatherford Street under the I-35W underpass, then turn left and go under the Belknap Street underpass to reach the Pharr Street ramp.
