End of Season Fiesta for Hou/Galvers?

#1 Postby Houstonia » Mon Dec 01, 2003 4:28 pm

Sorry.. I've been out of town! Sunday was the last day of the 2003 hurricane season. I know that we Hou/Galvers met last November 30 as well as on the first day of this year's season.

Shall we do it again? Has it already been done?

If it has not already been celebrated, shall we meet this coming Saturday, December 6?

Feel free to reply here or to email me at Houstonia@ev1.net.

Sorry to be so out of it. I have spent the past week traversing the country.
Flew to New Orleans.
Flew from New Orleans to Nashville.
Drove from Nashville to Bowling Green, KY.
Spent the night in Bowling Green,KY.
Drove to Kalamazoo Michigan.
Spent 3 nights in Kalamazoo, MI (got to play in the snow!!)
Drove back to Bowling Green, KY.
Spent the night in Bowling Green KY
Drove to Nashville.
Flew from Nashville to Houston.

:-) :-)

Hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving!

bye... ~H~

Well, howdy!

I have plans with some out of town buddies who are flying in from the north. And it's Dickens this weekend. But if you guys want to plan for this weekend, I might be able to slip away for a bit. That is, if you don't mind a Dickensian pauper hanging out with ya.

Dickens on the Strand is this weeekend? I know I am going off-topic on this--Duckie, can you private message me some info on that? Do people dress up? Is there an admission fee? What kinds of stuff go on for it? I have some friends who have been considering going to it.

Let's see what everyone else in the area thinks--we can put it off till the following week, or just shelve it till the spring.

bye..

I have no problems with meeting on the 6th, my work load shouldn't be that great. But even better would be the next Saturday, the 13th. Ticka says she will be able to make it that day, and I think it's absolutely imperative that she comes and meets us. It also gives people a tad more time to be able to work it into their schedules. Thoughts??

BUMP...when I met Shannon (furluvcats), I took her to The Spot, which is a really good burger place on the seawall...I'm not sure where it is though. That would be my choice. Anyone else?

Saturday, December 13-- bump up

#14 Postby Houstonia » Mon Dec 08, 2003 2:35 pm

The Spot sounds good to me.

Anyone have an address/phone number?

Can they accomodate a large group?

Let's try to have more than two people this time!!! :-)

What time shall we meet?

Still on Saturday?

I'm looking forward to this! :-)

The Spot is on 32nd and Seawall. As for the time, how about 1pm? I think it should be in the afternoon, that way if it's cold (which I hope it isn't), it won't be AS cold.

Are David and Shawn still in on the plan? I haven't heard anything from them about it. I know ticka is able to go, and Kat said he can. I tried talking to eb4480 but she isn't sure yet if she can or not. She wanted to know the time and place.

1 pm is fine with me. I can be very flexible about meeting times, but I just need advanced notice since I am on the opposite side of Houston.

The Spot
3201 Seawall
409.621.5237
The Spot features breakfast, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, dinner platters, and pizza. The hamburgers come with several delicious pre-selected trimmings, or you can have a Spot Burger and select from an appetizing spread of standard trimmings. Piping hot pizza is served next door at The Pizza Spot. Bus tours welcome! M.

Here is a link to Galveston Dining. Scroll down and look for the Spot. There is a link to a map.
