So many people are getting sick right now it is insane. Last couple of weeks ive had a fever, a chest full of congestion and a head that feels like it is not even attached. Just in time for holidays.. Everyone else feeling the affects? lol... All three of us here at my house have just been passing it around in one big ole circle :-?

I am quite surprised I have not gotten imensely sick, like I usually do around Thanksgiving. I have the past 2 or 3 years; have not had any long drawn out illness yet! 8-)

I must be careful though because I am going out with my girlfriend on Monday and have vacation all next week (perfect time for something to come along and ruin things.)

Hope you didn't curse yourself NEWeatherguy,

Fortunately I haven't fallen victim as of yet either. My wife was pretty sick last week though. *crosses fingers and toes*

I've been not feeling my best the last few days...headache, stuffed up, all that nice stuff. I think it's either allergies or a cold...hopefully it goes away soon!

Feel better everyone! :)

I had it back around Halloween and the week before that while I was working on halloween costumes. Made the job a lot more trouble than it should have been.

So far, so good! I'm the one who ALWAYS get sick over Thanksgiving, this year is the FIRST one in EONS that I wasn't. Just a few short 80 miles to my north in Colorado, the estimated number of cases of the flu has hit 4,000+ with 4 deaths, all children.

My Mother was sick about 4 days before Thanksgiving. I believe it was her sinuses. I have not been sick since I had the flu last year. I got a flu shot this season though!!

Crummy Flu Stuff

#10 Postby Suzi Q » Sun Nov 30, 2003 9:14 am

I managed to get it the middle of October and after coughing my lungs out and going to two different doctors and taking more meds than even I care to take, finally got my voice back last week. I had planned on getting a flu shot, but don't need one now! Usually it's my hubby that gets sick first and gives it to me, but he didn't get it this year, even when I was sicker than a dog. Made me ALMOST quit smoking, but hey I'm better now, so back to the usual 5 packs a day (joking!). If ya'll haven't gotten your shot, do so now. If you can't or won't do the shot, get a Michael Jackson mask! You won't regret it.

The thing with the flu this season, it's a mutated virus and their now saying that the shot will NOT do any good!

Chad - I've got it too. Started yesterday morning. Yuck! I even took a flu shot...... Our plan is to eat well, take our daily vitamins, wash hands upon returning home and get regular sleep. All of that usually works and I haven't even been running around like crazy either. Don't understand it.....LOL Now how did I pick this up? It's not that bad but then you feel awful - yes my head doesn't even feel attached! Reading the boards takes some patience - man oh man, my eyes kill me after 10 minutes! Hate getting sick. The other plan I like to use - telling myself "I will not get sick" - didn't work either this time.

Hope ya feel better Chad! Maybe we'll get all of this junk out of the way for Christmas?

Every year it is just a guessing game with the Flu shot. They figure that the strain of flu that is in China this year will migrate to the USA next year, so they make the antibody for that particular strain. The majority of the time, the strain they produce an antibody for is not the strain that is spreading here in the USA. Sometimes they get it right, but not very often. The up side is that usually it is good enough of an antibody to do the trick.

Well I was very sick at the end of October. Was at a business trip in Corpus Christi - ended up going to the doctor for meds. I had had it for 3 weeks - it would come and go. Finally I am better, got my flu shot and haven't been seriously ill since then - knock on wood I hope it continues.

Well, I went Krogering and bought a fresh Amish chicken, among fresh veggies and fruit. I'm making a huge pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. Wish I could share it with all of you that dealing with this crud too!!! Sure hope this turns me around. Been napping off and on and popping the vitamins. Sipping hot tea with lemon and honey too. Seems that mantra I follow each winter and holiday season time - I will not get sick, I will not get sick, I will not get sick - just didn't work this time!!!! LOL

Get better to all who are sick right now.

I like that, "went Krogering"

There must be a certain number of vitamins you can take over a so many hour period.

coldront77 - just taking my daily along with a few Vitamin C pills thrown in several times a day. Don't worry I'm not downing the whole bottle. LOL But I had been skipping my daily vitamins, shouldn't have done that.
