I am leaving for good

Dear Storm2K members:

It is with deep sadness and regret that I inform you that as of today, Saturday; November 29th, 2003; I am leaving the board. I have been spending way too much time on here and the quality of my life has gone to the crapper. I keep spreeing in the games forum but I got my @$$ wooped today and I cried for almost 15 minutes because I knew I was going to lose the race to be first to 20,000. I cannot believe that Luis showed no mercy to me, even after I repeatedly asked him to stop and let me have a chance. He continued posting. Therefore I lost. Not only that but I have been spending 90% of my day on here trying to beat him, which has now been wasted; and my apartment looks like crap. I cannot believe what an utter waste of time these past two weeks have been. Plus I have better things to do than pos 700 times in a day on some message board. I am not coming back and don't beg me to because it isn't going to work. If I could have my account deleted or banned so I can't post, please do it ASAP. I would like to still have PM communication though if at possible. I have removed my contact info for obvious reasons. I do not want flaming or spamming regarding this post; so that is why I removed it. I am done with S2K. I have better things to do than devote an entire day to posting 400+ posts on a website. Goodbye!

There is nothing wrong with being top second poster. I congratulate you on that Josh. But, you asking Luis to slow down to let you catch up was not playing fair.

I hope you change your mind and drop by to see us every now and then.

Oh my I can't believe that me getting the 20,000 posts was the cause of your posting this Josh because this is only for fun what we do in the stats everytime we get a milestone and congrat each other when a milestone is reached by a member.There has to be another more important reason for your decision if that is what you are going to do.Well but if that is your choice to leave then I say to you good luck wherever to go.

Joshua - you have to do what you think is best. Like Lindaloo said, it isn't fair to ask Luis to stop posting just so you can get ahead. It's nice to know how much you've contributed to the board, but I personally don't think it should be viewed as competitive.

If you feel that you must take time away from the board to catch up with other things, then that's totally understandable. Personally, I'm between two chat rooms now and I REALLY should cut down! :roll:

Josh, it was your decision to race Luis. It's not THAT important to you is it? Losing a race to 20000 is no way to leave, but it's your decision.

Joshua, (if you read this) you just need to take a time out, regroup, and come back fresh. Maybe you should deliberately let someone else get it just so you can claim some control over it. We need a support group for S2K addicts. (My name is .... and I'm a S2Kaholic.)

Cool off, think about it, take a breather, sleep on it, etc. Hope to hear from you again.

Josh this is the second time you have gotten into a so called posting race. I think you're putting way too much value in the post count. Take time off, clean house, go outside, take a walk enjoy other things too. If you decide to return, great . if not. good luck. But I'm certainly not going to "beg" you to stay.
Also, asking luis to slow down isn't what I would call fair play either.

Very true, after all wouldn't u of felt empty inside if u caught up to Luis only because he stopped posting...

Anyway what did u say when i mentioned for you to do stop posting as much so people could catch up even though i was joking.

Josh, I almost didn't know how to respond.

There shouldn't be a serious race to any post milestone. We are here for fun, no matter the "Winter Weather" forum, "Fun & Games" forum and the "Off Topic" forum. We post when we feel like it, as we discuss different issues and play the games our post count accumulate.

I would figure aside from cleaning up, coming here to Storm2K and other discussion forums would be good for you.

You may IM me later tonight if you so wish.

As it's been said, it's NOT about the post count for heavens sake, it's about *weather comrades*, learning, improving on ones skills! I for one am here for the *cyberfriendship*, learning more about the tropics and weather in general. Ya know.....this kind of behavior is EXACTLY what caused Black Tuesday or whatever day it was.

I agree with most but I think Tom said it best. Josh, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but that was just pointless. Who cares who reached 20,000 posts first? Quality is much better than quanitity. Sure the title of "First s2k member to reach 20,000 posts" sounds great, but if you are posting 700 times a day and few if any of those posts are really meaningful then you seriously need to stop posting that much. I don't think I have ever posted more than 10 or 15 posts in a single day on any message board because there's just no point.

2,000 quality posts will make you a much more memorable member than 20,000 but with few if any quality posts.

Exactly what I was thinking, mf...Josh you should really think hard about your decision, if you feel it is the right one, then good luck and God bless you...but I don't know what the point is to being upset just b/c you didn't win a race, I've lost races, real and virt, not a big deal...I just smile and say, I'll just try harder next go...
