Doesnt go up as it detracts from the true meaning of Christmas. The tree is too secular, IMO

I see your point, Derek... as I mentioned in another thready you mentioned this in. My family is a true Catholic family (I find things difficult to understand, but I still go to church every Sunday) and my mother has always wanted to put a Christmas Tree up.

I don't get a tree because there is nowhere to put one in my living room. I wish I could have one though. :(

The fiber optic tree may go up in early/mid December... we went to Fiber Optic after the place where we bought our tree lost it's owner.

We found the MOST PERFECT, looks like a tree from a farm, Blue Spruce that I've ever had!!! It was almost a shame to cut it down "LOL!" It's not all that tall, 6' tall, but PERFECT!! We put it up and will decorate it today.

Our tree actually ended up going up this afternoon. As I mentioned the other day, it is a small one... 5½ feet tall.

My house has been done for going on 3 weeks now, I believe. We do a themed tree for each room, and each room and I mean every single one...is done up!!! We absolutely LOVE bringing the holiday cheer into our home, yet we still observe the true meaning of Christmas, as Jesus's birthday. We also have a Birthday cake for Jesus every year. I believe you can decorate your home beautifully in the Christmas spirit, and still honor Jesus in a spiritual way. IMHO.

Most people agree with you there. The most religious individuals at least have a Christmas Tree as much as the same people don't have one because of the true meaning of Christmas.

My lovely little 4' fiber-optic "pull-it-out-of-the-box-
shape-it-and-plug-it-in" tree went up last weekend,
with all of the decorations!

I have always shook my head at the "crazy" neighbors
who put the Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving -
this year, I decided to BE that crazy neighbor!

We are working on doing the tree right now. Don't know how far we will get...but its artificial so I'm not in a major rush to get it up. I am very tired - having worked all day Friday and Saturday. Just not in the holiday mood yet.

The ornaments are on our tree as well. Didn't take as much time/not as many decorations to put on it the last four Christmas' since we moved to a smaller house.

My mother did most of it, I am not the "Christmas Tree trimming" sort of person. You need to be in a certain mood, which may not be the same mood every day. :)

Normally goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year, it went up the week before because Emma was here.

As we turned on the lights in front of her 16 month old eyes, she walked over to it, quietly said the word "ball?" in a questioning sort of way.

She then wrung her hands and tipped her head from side to side as if to say, "something tells me this is not a toy, but I'd sure like someone to tell me I can jump on in and play with it."

Was worth all the extra effort to get it up a week early.

Oh, and by the way, she never did grab at it.

Our went up Saturday.....and Sunday. This was our 1st artificial. Man what a job. Assembly = 3 hours.
Decorating = 2.5 Hours.

But.....I have to say this is the best looking tree I have ever seen. It has those frosted snow covered looking branches, and we got some special glass balls with lights inside from Pottery Barn last year that look great.

Now...if we can just manage to fit that Washer & Dryer under it. :)

My wife and I will be going to a nice tree farm to cut down "the perfect tree" on Saturday, 12/6. We will probably decorate it the following weekend (12/13 or 12/14).

We put our tree up the week after Thanksgiving, I put the lights around the house last Wednesday and I still have the windows to do this week. I just love this time of year.
