Models already shows rain coming back into the forecast around the end of the month... And the CPC agrees. We're transitioning to El nino and the subtropical jet will start to sneak underneath the ridge.

86 degrees ties the record high for this date with time to go up. Cold front can't get here soon enough. My walk might wait until tomorrow. More record highs possible next week. Boo.

Like I said yesterday, think we’ll have to wait till the end of the month for rain chances to return. There might be another decently strong front coming later in the month too, but not too confident about that yet.

Wind not too impressive here, but it's suburban with houses so close to eachother. Looks awful north.

Exactly. April and May look good on some of the climate models also.

Hit 95 in SA today and broke a 100 year record. Looks like 90's won't be gone for long.

April isn't that far out? As for May, I point to them not because I expect them to verify completely but because their signal aligns with the el nino transition for that timeframe and therfore gives a little more credence to the overall output.

I actually look at everything before I comment. For example if I just took the models verbatim I would've been on here with you during the winter calling for more cold outbreaks. Lol. That didn't happen because it's obviously more than just the modeling. But by all means tell us why you think that wouldn't verify?

Survived another (I think our 3rd this year?) tornado warning yesterday afternoon in Longview. Had a decent downpour but no hail at my house. Nearby areas got quarter size hail.

35F this morning and expect 28F tomorrow morning.

The good news it is currently 34° at DFW airport and it feels great! I am loving this every bit. We get one more day tomorrow.

The bad news the well advertised heat wave coming in from the southwest kicks up on Thursday. Mid to high 80s on Thursday and then starting on Friday all the way to the beginning of next week 90s for just about everybody near record or record heat. It will be a brutal 7 to 10 day stretch to round out the month.

I am pretty chill since I live in Texas. But 95 in March stinks.

If going by the longer term (months) guidance, April is still relatively warm perhaps not as extreme as March or February was. But the wetter pattern may kick up sometime in the new month. The very long term noise is that May and into summer heights lower, perhaps even below normal, which signals cooler regime. I don't believe in that fully (refuse to predict any meaningful long term below normal), I think it will be mild but not hot with increasing El Nino influence regarding rainfall the deeper into the year we go. I think we see a slower progression like 2006-2009 type seasons rather than the extremes like a 1997 or 2015.
