Can definitely see Davie/Weston dropping below freezing

Used to live in western Plantation near the Davie/Weston line in 2010, and registered a 25 - 26 degree low then, plus notable frost.

That area usually beats Miami by 7 degrees, Ft. Lauderdale by 5.

What is that structure (with all the frost)? Is it a car windshield?

:cold: And so, it is official. Very light but authentic nonetheless.... news video of extremely light snow flurries have now been reported in Tallahassee, Inverness, Gainesville, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, and Oviedo (east of Orlando). NAM still forecasting flurries (or other frozen precipitation) for a small area in the Tampa area between 5Z - 9Z tonight (early Sunday morning)

That's the roof of the car, and the windshield also featured one of the coolest frost formations I've ever seen...looking from inside the car out:

As of 12:53 AM, the prior records for the lowest temperature of this winter have are breaking throughout Southeast Florida.

43°F at KMIA, Miami is lower than the 44°F set on January 16
43°F at KFLL, Fort Lauderdale ties the 43°F set on January 16
42°F at KOPF, Opa-Locka is lower than the 43°F set on January 16
41°F at KHWO, Pembroke Pines is lower than the 43°F set on both January 1 and January 16
39°F at KPBI, West Palm Beach ties the 39°F set on December 31

KHST, Homestead and KTMB, West Kendall still both have a ways to go to reach their seasonal records, which are 43°F and 38°F (!!!) respectively.

My own personal thermometer recorded 41.9°F at 12:53 AM as well, which is lower than the low of 43°F in the area on January 16.
I also recorded a relative humidity of 64.2% and a dew point of 30.7°F, which is significantly down from an hour ago.

Miami Opa-Locka airport is currently reporting 37 degrees with light snow, curious if this will be verified or not

Temperatures have bottomed out across South Florida. These are the final figures compared to yesterday's forecasts:

Abdullah wrote:Current NWS forecast temperatures for tomorrow morning's low:

34°F - KMIA, Miami
34°F - KFLL, Fort Lauderdale
30°F - KPBI, West Palm Beach
37°F - KAPF, Naples

Daily low temperatures:

35°F at 6:53 AM - KMIA, Miami
35°F at 6:53 AM - KFLL, Fort Lauderdale
30°F at 7:40 AM - KPBI, West Palm Beach (hourly data only gets to 31°F at 6:53 AM)
39°F at 6:49 AM - KAPF, Naples (Incomplete data)

Plus a few more stations:

34°F at 7:25 AM - KHWO, Pembroke Pines (hourly data only gets to 35°F at 6:53 AM)
35°F at 6:53 AM - KOPF, Opa-Locka
33°F at 6:53 AM - KTMB, Kendall-Tamiami
36°F at 6:55 AM - KHST, Homestead

Temperatures come in slightly higher than expected, by about 1°F, but this still has been the coldest morning in South Florida since 2010.

History across the weather stations, most recent occurrence of this morning's temperature.

35°F at KMIA, Miami ties with 35°F on 1/10/2010, lowest since 30°F on 12/25/1989
35°F at KFLL, Fort Lauderdale lowest since 34°F on 12/14/2010
30°F* at KPBI, West Palm Beach lowest since 28°F on 12/25/1989, first freeze since 32°F on 12/14/2010
34°F** at KHWO, Pembroke Pines ties with 34°F on 12/14/2010, ties the RECORD LOW*** set four times, most recently on 12/14/2010.
35°F at KOPF, Opa-Locka lowest since 34°F on 12/14/2010
33°F at KTMB, Kendall-Tamiami lowest since 32°F on 12/28/2010

* For West Palm Beach, I think they'll use the 30°F since it was recorded in the 5-minute data figures on this website (https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=KPBI), but in hourly observations KPBI, West Palm Beach only ever got to 31°F.

** Pembroke Pines has the same situation as West Palm Beach, I suspect they'll use 34°F since it was recorded in the 5-minute data figures on this website (https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=KHWO), but in hourly observations KHWO, Pembroke Pines only ever got to 35°F. If they use the 35°F number it still hasn't touched that level since 12/28/2010, when it also got to 35°F.

***Ties the record low at KHWO, Pembroke Pines since observations only go back to April 1999 on the SC ACIS2 database linked here (the source for all the figures in this above post): https://scacis.rcc-acis.org/. The four instances of the record low were 12/14/2010, 1/11/2010, 1/10/2010, and 1/24/2010.

At West Palm Beach (PBI), which recorded it's first freeze since December 14, 2010, the thermometer stayed below freezing for nearly three hours!

From 5:05 AM to 7:55 AM, it stayed at 32°F or below. :cold:

Amazing, very near freezing. Very likely that other western suburbs like Weston, Davie & Sunrise near Sawgrass got to see freezing temps in spots this morning, right at 32 or 31. Prepare for a potentially colder night tonight with radiational cooling, like what 12/28/2010 was. Sub 32 very likely even in your area or Miramar IMO.

The pattern today is strikingly different than it was yesterday.

As of 10:30 PM, Miami (MIA) stands at 43°F and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is at 45°F. Pembroke Pines (HWO) is at 41°F and Opa-Locka (KOPF) is at 43°F

Due to the effect of radiational cooling and almost zero wind, my thermometer in the western end of Miramar is significantly below the nearby airports (as opposed to yesterday, when it nearly ran alongside them).

It crossed the 40°F mark a few minutes ago; at 10:30 PM I measure 4.3°C, or 39.7°F.

Measured a daily low of 1.4°C = 34.5°F at 7:22 AM in the Western part of Miramar

Relative humidity of 84.3% gives a dew point of -1.0°C / 30.3°F.

Looked aroubd for frost, didn't see it anywhere, all the condensation was still liquid.

Due to constant (though light) winds, radiational cooling was a little choppy. However, this day was still the second-coldest day in my area since 2010, and one of only three days that dropped significantly below 40°F.

These are the days:

33.4°F on February 1, 2026
34.5°F on February 2, 2026
37°F on January 22, 2020
