The roads that have been driven on and broken up some ice, will become cobbled.

Big warmup in my neck of the woods. Low of 3 and made it all the way to 28. Below freezing total time will end up around 100 hours as we should hit the low to mid-30s tomorrow afternoon.

Have to do a Kroger/Wal Mart run and some streets already have cobblestone ice. Can't imagine what it will be like tomorrow morning. Nasty.

Note to self: leave gate to the back yard propped open during sleet storms. I’ve spent most of the day clearing the 3’ pile of ice in front of it so I can get the trash cans out. The bolts on the hinge popped out of the wood so yeah.

39F at IAH.

3 km NAM at 18Z says a trace of ice Wednesday morning, I suppose from freezing mist. Suspect it doesn't happen here but model is showing faint and tiny radar echoes up in the Metroplex.

Sounds like you need a blowtorch lol

Or big heater. I wonder what my wife would think about me using her new Dyson hairdryer?

For all that effort, how many dead bodies are in the garbage cans that they just had to go out?

I’m reevaluating this winter weather stuff. I’ve been locked in the house for five days with my wife and kid. I need some time alone.

Surprisingly the street is still a solid sheet of sleet…not much melting today.

Grass melted off quite a bit though.

You mustn’t have met my wife. She is like an uber consumer and when she’s bored she throws stuff out. But the joke’s on me: trash guys aren’t coming til Wednesday. Plus everybody knows you don’t put bodies in the trash. You take them to a commercial site with fake plates, hoodie and balaclava.

Ha that sounds horrible but I went to work last night because I had to get out of the apartment

Most people didn't show up

People were getting stuck in the parking lot all day and I saw a couple abandoned cars

I keep imagining how much worse it would have been had we actually had the 2 feet! :double:

Jeff Lindner on Facebook

1-26-26 215pm

Another strong cold front will move into the region Friday afternoon or evening and may result in freezing temperatures again this weekend.

At this time light rain and showers on Friday will end well before the air is cold enough for any freezing or frozen precipitation…so the weekend looks dry and cold…with likley lows in the 20’s and highs in the 40’s.
