When you say main show are you meaning across the board, or just for your area?

Those types of things are hard to say accurately but across the bulk of the state, the current precip is not the main show.

Looks like we may be doing this all over again late next week after we get passed this winter weather event. CMC ENS similar to the GEFS signal late next week. Stay safe everyone.

Models showing frzr up here are wrong. Actually seeing some snow mixing in. Should bode well for DFW and areas along I-20 for more frozen instead of freezing precipitation.

Flash Flood Warning during a Winter Storm Warning. Has this happened before?!?!?
The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Western Bandera County in south central Texas...
* Until 200 AM CST.
* At 1115 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

The views and opinions expressed in this post are solely those of an amateur. For an official forecast I recommend your local branch of the NWS.

Thanks, yes that’s what I was getting at if tomorrow’s precip was gonna be broader and heavy for most everyone.

It's winter.
Well yeah but as we know that can mean all sorts of things in Texas as we saw prior to this event with 80's. Lol. A snow signal like that showing up however deep into Texas is another thing though.

txtwister78 next weekends system at least on the ensembles looks similar to last january, wouldn’t that be something to get a big snowstorm just a few days later? Its amazing how december was one of the warmest on record, first half of january was extremely warm, and now we just completely flip the script

It's 28 now and there has been a mix of sleet and snow for a while now and the ground and streets are pretty white now.
Nice glad y'all transitioned away from the freezing rain quickly! I pray Anderson County transitions to sleet sooner than forecast.

It’s winter now, is more appropriate.

We’re gonna get bombed in the morning in east Texas with sleet. That’ll be a good 3-4” band between 4a and 10a.

DFW is a freezing line battle ground again. Go figure.
