Does Halong really have 9+ hours left to strengthen? If so, recon could find a truly impressive typhoon. Halong isn't forecast to strengthen much further by the JTWC but it does seem like it'll enjoy favourable conditions for a little while longer.

Might undergo EWRC soon (though I don't think it'll be a successful one). MW scans several hours ago already showed potential secondary eyewall formation.

Japanese aircraft reconnaissance (JA002G) was last detected nearing the eye of Halong several minutes ago. They are likely now sampling the eye as we speak.

Japan is conducting another reconnaissance mission (already penetrated the eye). Convenient that it's close to the country!
