Maybe Andrea is tired of being a sloppy (sub) tropical system every time and wants to level up.

All is tranquil in the basin as we are on the last days of June.

After TS Chantal and now it's remnants are causing flooding in NC and Virginia, all is quiet on the rest of the basin and there are no development expected thru the next 7 days. Mike points out an area near the Bahamas.

Posting here the loop of the strongest tropical wave that has emerged from Africa so far in 2025, but it's future is not so bright because of the sal and dry air in the MDR. Neverless is neat to look at it.

This other wave around 40W has a small spin to it but will have the same result of the other one behind with the sal and dry air.

Side note: there seems to be a somewhat curiously northward component to the motion of the highest convection with this wave. Obviously less impactful than the massive dearth of dry air out there, but I'm just curiously eyeballing that motion as possible suggestive of a bit of weak mid level troughing off the W African coastline. It may be simply transitory but it could also be foretelling of future strong TW motion of potential Cape Verde systems that have a fairly established MLC, once the dust clears and as we approach "prime time".

Not looking as good now but has a decent curling up on it and might start pulling in moisture from the south.

94L is now gone and the basin is without areas of interest, although there are tropical waves that will keep marching westbound. The question is when will the next invest be up.

Here is Michael Lowry's 7/22/25 discussion about how are things in the basin and what to expect in the next few weeks as August arrives.

The low entering the gulf the next couple of days might take a shot at it. You know how lows can be in the gulf with or without model support

Basin continues quiet apart from some rumblings of models.
