2nd Tuesday in a row we've had a nice storm hit right at rush hour. 1.75" so far at my place, and it seems like the storms have been back-building a bit toward Tarrant Co. Was neat watching the outflow boundary from the south crash into the storms over southern Dallas Co on radar a little while ago.

Officially the "hottest" day of the summer so far at DFW.

Rain just south of me, so I am getting missed again, but at least it is cooling off. Nice evening and a few sprinkles at least.

Same as if a Bear poops in the woods and no one is around to see it, does it smell?

Gentle cooling rain started falling as I mowed. Heavier rain fell just S and W and E of me.

So I was doing some reading on cloud seeding because it's been in the news of late and no I'm not trying to start a conversation about the conspiracy of the flood. One part that raised my eyebrows was that apparently it can also be used to lessen the effects of hail storms, making hail stones smaller thus less damage to Agriculture and infrastructure.

I'm all for it in that case, in fact I'm surprised there hasn't been some push for that to happen by insurance companies to lessen the effects in the area up here in North Texas unless I'm missing something.

More rain, just south of Llano, seems to be about 3"/hour in spots, according to LCRA Hydromet. Looks to be moving SE toward the Pedernales.

A good video about the meteorology of the Hill Country Floods:

Would we attribute the destruction to Tropical Storm Barry?

That one looks parked right over you. Getting another good soaker in Coppell. This is a July I can handle. And still no scorching HP any time soon with small rain chances this weekend with slightly cooler temps.

Got up to an inch already. It is dumping. I think my area is one of the few that got missed recently, so good to see more coverage.

Maybe another inch or so, it's finally starting to move a bit more to the west.

Also cashed in finally at my house. Not as much as some areas, but 0.6" in July is nice.

Pretty sure it rained on every square foot of DFW property except the one where they have the weather station.
