ECMWF runs and ensembles remind me of Nepartak 2016. Same timing as well.

Looks like this basin will be very active in the next 3 weeks.

Hayabusa wrote:2024 wasn't that active in ACE, after El Nino ended in early 2024, the rest of the year was in a neutral state and the latest 3 month ONI it's still in cool neutral but other indices like the RONI says La Nina. Moving to 2025 latest CPC predictions show a higher percentage probability of ENSO neutral for 2025, an ENSO neutral for the Pacific typhoon season could mean more ACE just as much if not more than an El Nino season or you know it could end like 2024 again, the coupled ocean-atmosphere are not in sync... well I still predict above average maybe I'll be finally right for 2025 :P

Unless 98W becomes a named storm and/or a year end/crossover named TC forms as the GFS is hinting, here are the next names.

The ACE is very far from the average for July 2 as 2025 has so far 4.0 while the average is 39.6. For sure it will rebound in the next 3 weeks as the CPC prediction has highlighted. GFS has at least 5 TC's in the next 16 days.

I don’t know if this is true or not, but FCX (a TC animator on YouTube) is saying that the 2024 WPAC reanalysis from the JTWC will be coming out at the end of the month.

Is this usually the case?

If I recall 2023's best track was released near the end of July 2024

Does the SHEM best track (ex: 2023-24) release at the same time? I would like to know so I can be on the same page.
